Yövesi Studio Home is located in the old elementary school building on Himalansaari Island in Mikkeli, in the middle of an ancient cultural landscape and the most beautiful nature of Lake Saimaa.

The former village school radiates cultural heritage and reflects our family's passion for old buildings, art, and Saimaa.
Today, it serves as an inspiring environment for art and culture enthusiasts, travelers, and various groups, combining a unique history with the tranquility of nature. The Atelier Home is being renovated, the garden nurtured, and events organized with the help of family and friends.

The cuckoo sang, the wind whispered in the trees, the sun shone, and a serene peace surrounded us. The lakeside sauna offered soft, steamy heat, and it was delightful to take a refreshing dip in Saimaa. Thank you also for sharing the unique history of this place. I am a watercolor and tempera painter as well as a sculptor. I am fascinated by the mystery of art, where the emerging image can be subtly guided but never forced into any direction. The result is always surprising.
Yövesi Atelier Home, on an island in Saimaa's Yövesi, is my soul landscape. To create art, I need silence – a space where I can immerse myself in the work taking shape.
