She has run the popular Thuleian Cottage website for twenty years, offering an extensive knowledge base on nature religions and shamanism. Her book Northern Shamanism – Rituals, Practices, and History (Like) was one of the most popular non-fiction books last year. Kirsti has been guiding courses and workshops on nature connection and shamanism for over two decades. She is currently writing a book on the Northern rune tradition. Kirsti is originally from Lapland and now resides in the traditional landscape near Turku.
As a teacher, Kirsti is gently firm, warm, and full of zest for life. She has the ability to inspire others to find their path to their inner self and to challenge them to pursue their calling in life. In addition to her education as a visual artist, Kirsti is a trained massage therapist and traditional tattoo artist.
– "In my courses, I aim to awaken people's natural intuition and their ability to sense the world around them more deeply. We discuss ecological identity and the old reciprocal traditions of the North on living in harmony with nature. The most important thing, however, is to quiet the mind and relax. I listen to each participant's needs and desires and we explore thought-provoking topics calmly, both individually and in the group. It’s incredible how much people realize about themselves by simply listening to a pinecone or drawing a new path for a stream. Nature heals and brings strength."
You can familiarize yourself with Kirsti’s book in advance:
Pohjoinen shamanismi Northern Shamanism breathes life into centuries-old shaman drums and shares the preserved knowledge of Northern shamanism and witchcraft. The drum surface is painted with symbols that reveal rich Sámi and Scandinavian mythology. The book weaves a strong red thread from the past to the present, offering examples and practical exercises to introduce you to shamanism. Your relationship with nature begins to revive, and your connection to animals, plants, and dreams deepens.
