Watercolor Painting Course – Inspiration, Skills, and Experiences

Course Dates: This five-day intensive watercolor painting course, held from June 30 to July 4, 2025, offers art and nature enthusiasts the opportunity to develop their painting skills in an inspiring environment. The course is suitable for both beginners and more experienced participants. Viiden päivän intensiivinen akvarellimaalauskurssi 30.6. – 4.7.2025 tarjoaa taiteen ja luonnon ystäville tilaisuuden kehittyä maalareina inspiroivassa ympäristössä. Kurssi soveltuu sekä aloittelijoille että kokeneemmille.
Course Content:
The course combines learning watercolor painting techniques, deepening artistic expression, and drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature. The days include guided instruction, individual coaching, and group activities.
Kurssi yhdistää akvarellimaalaustekniikan opiskelun, taiteellisen ilmaisun syventämisen ja luonnon kauneudesta inspiroitumisen. Päivät koostuvat ohjatusta opetuksesta, yksilöllisestä ohjauksesta ja ryhmäaktiviteeteista.

Course Fee Includes:

Boat trip to the Astuvansalmi rock paintings and a short sightseeing tour around Yövesi
Accommodation is booked separately in 1-2 person rooms. The accommodation includes:
- Breakfast and evening snack
- Access to the lakeside sauna, where you can also take a swim in the pure waters of Lake Saimaa. The Saimaa ringed seal enjoys the area and occasionally visits near the shore.

The main language of instruction is Finnish, but English coaching is available.
You can bring your own painting supplies, or purchase materials from Katja upon arrival at Ateljeekoti.
We accommodate special dietary needs and allergies. Please notify us by email at least one week before the course begins. Our food is locally sourced, focusing on fish and vegetables, with the possibility of offering organically produced meat from the nearby area. The food is lactose-free or low-lactose.
Course schedules may be updated based on circumstances; the program is indicative.
You can reach us by car or public transport (we offer pickup from Ristiina or Mikkeli by arrangement).
Accommodation: Yöveden Ateljeekoti is located in a former school building from 1893, set in the heart of pristine nature and a historic cultural landscape.2-person room/cottage: €40 per night 1-person room/cottage: €60 per night.
Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellation up to 14 days before the course: Full refund of course and accommodation fees.
Cancellation up to 14 days before the course: Full refund for course and accommodation fees. - Cancellation 7-13 days before the course: 50% refund for the course fee, with the option to transfer your participation to another course without additional charges. Accommodation fee refunded in full.
- Cancellation less than 7 days before the course: No refund for the course fee, but you may transfer your participation to another course. Accommodation fee refunded in full.
